My Story

From a very young age, I developed a passion and love of learning and for helping others that remains today. Although I wasn't always sure that I wanted to be a teacher, I always knew my path would lead me to a career that allowed me to continue learning and growing as I helped others do the same.

During my undergraduate studies, while searching for an internship placement, I stumbled upon a local Montessori school. An internship placement in a Montessori school seemed like the perfect blend between my psychology major and my education minor. I'll always remember the first time I visited the campus and the feeling that overcame me when I stepped foot into a Montessori classroom for the very first time. I'm not sure how to describe that moment other than by saying that I knew I'd found my calling.

My internship at Lake Mary Montessori Academy quickly led to becoming a one-on-one support personnel for neurodivergent students while I finished obtaining my Bachelor's degree. When approached by the Heads of School, I quickly said yes as they offered to sponsor my Montessori Early Childhood credential. I began working that same year as a co-lead in an Early Childhood classroom. Again, I quickly accepted the opportunity the very next year when the Heads of School approached me with a sponsorship opportunity for my Elementary I credential and began my self-directed internship that very next school year.

Over the course of the nearly 13 years I spent at the school, I had the privilege of working in many roles including Upper Elementary Assistant, Lower Elementary Coordinator, and finally, Associate Head of School. Each of these positions offered me valuable experiences where I learned to support and guide staff and children of all ages and in all capacities.

While working at LMMA, I also continued my education in pursuit of my Education Specialist degree in School Psychology. This journey allowed me to obtain a national certification as a School Psychologist and has prepared me to support neurodivergent students and to help guide educators in doing the same.

Sadly, LMMA closed at the end of the 2020-2021 school year. I began considering what my future looked like and how I could continue spreading the wonder of Montessori. My first endeavor was to become a Montessori in-home educator and caregiver. The joy of guiding a toddler was something I hadn't yet experienced that allowed me to understand the Montessori Method in a new light and created memories that will certainly last a lifetime!

Having worked with children toddlers through college-age and supporting educators and parents along the way, I realized it was time to try to expand my Montessori influence. After all, Dr. Montessori envisioned her pedagogy to become a powerful force with the potential to change lives. As a Montessori content creator, teacher trainer, and coach, I hope to put my years of experience and educational knowledge to use by inspiring all of those who cross my path and to continue positively impacting the lives of children through the work of Montessori by way of educators, parents, and caregivers.
